We hope this will help you understand our processes & answer any questions you may have. If you are considering adding a CopperRidge dog to your family, please be sure to read through everything here, so you have a better understanding of our policies and processes.

Applying for a puppy:

Potential CopperRidge families are expected to complete the full application process. Which includes filling out the questionnaire and emailing ApplyPuppyCRL@Gmail.com why you think you would be a good fit for one of our puppies and include photos of where the puppy would be living.

We want to get to know our potential families, and make sure we are a good fit for you.

Step 1

Read all information listed on this page about our program, ensure that we are the breeder for you, and understand our processes & what we expect from you.

Review Purchase Agreement & Health Guarantee.

Step 3

Fill out the application HERE — This helps us gain info about you, and will show you what we are looking for in a family.

Step 4

Once invited to join the CopperRidge family, a non-refundable $500 deposit is required (applied toward the puppy). You’ll also be added to group chats with your litter mates and past CopperRidge families.

Step 5

We will reach out to you and set up a phone interview to answer any questions or concerns you may have about a puppy or our process.

Step 6

Your final payment will be due when the puppies are at 6 weeks of age. Payments can be made via Cash or Cashiers Check.

Puppy Pricing:

Our current puppy price is $5,000.

CopperRidge Labradors puppies are thoughtfully bred and raised in our home with a strong focus on health, temperament, and lifelong support.

A $500 non refundable deposit is required to reserve a puppy and is applied toward the final purchase price.

We intentionally limit the number of litters we produce each year so that every puppy receives individualized care and every family receives ongoing support.

This includes

• Careful pairing and planned breedings

• Health tested parents with verifiable clearances

• In home raising with daily handling and early socialization

• Age appropriate veterinary care and health records

• AKC registration

• Lifetime breeder support and inclusion in the CopperRidge family community

All puppies are sold as pet/companions only unless other terms have been previously agreed upon.

AKC Limited Registration*

Our puppies are sold with AKC Limited Registration and placed in pet/companion homes. Therefore they are not sold for breeding. All of our puppies are sold on a strict spay/neuter contract that requires you to wait till males are at least 24 months, females have at least one heat cycle.

Health Guarantee*

We provide a One-Year Health Guarantee against life threatening congenital defects (existing at birth). The Health Guarantee is VOID if males are neutered before 24 months, or females prior to first heat cycle

Visitor Policy:

We allow visitors into our home to meet our puppies on an invitation only basis. We invite our accepted CopperRidge families to come visit your puppy starting around 4-5 weeks.

The risk of outside diseases and viruses, especially Parvo, is a very real and a very scary thing.  We only want to protect our puppies & dogs. Once Parvo is introduced into an environment, it is extremely difficult to remove completely.

Picking up your puppy!

Finally, the day has come!

Puppies will be scheduled to go home on the Saturday after the litter turns 8 weeks old.  We will reach out to families the week of with pick up times and my address. Puppy pick ups times will happen mid-day unless otherwise arranged.

If you are in CT then you can pick up from our home. If you are out of state; we can arrange pick up at our nearest airport (Bradley International) and you can fly your puppy back with you in cabin.  We are happy to offer flying your puppy to you if you are in the US. You have the option to hire Sam of CopperRidge labs as your flight nanny to bring your puppy to you at an additional cost, or you may hire a flight nanny (this will need to be previously approved with CopperRidge Labs).

*If you cannot pick up your puppy on the scheduled day then a fee of $65/day will apply for additional boarding, which does not include additional vaccines and/or food.

  • Early introduction to potty training beginning as early as 3 weeks

  • Health exam by a licensed vet & age appropriate vaccines & microchipped

  • 30 days of Trupanion and/or AKC health insurance

    a blanket with littermates/moms scent

  • Puppy packet with their health/vaccine record/tips on training

  • LIFETIME support from us! 

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes we test everyone prior to breeding. On the rare occasion, we may breed a female on prelims only if her scores are high.

  • No. At CopperRidge, we actually encourage families to keep their dogs intact for as long as possible to support healthy development and maintain natural hormones. This is one of the reasons we only place our puppies with families we can fully trust to prevent unplanned breedings.

  • We do not deliver puppies. Puppies need to be picked up either at our location or we offer free transport to Bradley International Airport.

    We have flight nanny recommendations if needed.

  • Occasionally. Only to qualified breeders and show homes. We stay on as a co-owner and offer mentoring if needed.

  • Yes, you can fly home with your new puppy - under the agreement you will fly with the puppy in the cabin of the plane - NOT in cargo.

  • Yes. We have a waitlist specifically for chocolate males. If you’re interested in being put on a waitlist, please follow the instructions.
